No one knows exactly how or when coffee was discovered, though there are many legends about its origin.

They say Ethiopia is the Birthplace of Coffee. Ethiopia is a non-coastal country within the eastern region of the African continent called the “Horn of Africa”. It is one of the oldest countries in existence and features a rich history, full of significant historical moments- including the discovery of coffee.

One story of the dancing goats is most intriguing and entertaining.

The story goes that Kaldi (A goat herder in Ethiopia) discovered coffee when he noticed his goats eating berries from a certain tree. They became so energetic; jumping around and very playful, which led to them not wanting to sleep at night.

Kaldi reported his findings to the abbot of the local monastery, who made a drink with the berries and found that it kept him alert through the long hours of evening prayer. The abbot shared his discovery with the other monks at the monastery, and knowledge of the energizing berries began to spread.

You Choose your Roast and Grind

Cupping notes will always differ based on the roast profile. The lighter the roast the more likely you will notice the various tasting profile notes. The darker your roast; you will lose a lot of the fruity characters in the cup.

Did You Know! The lighter the roast, the more the caffeine?

Cupping notes: Chocolate, citrus, stone fruits, maple; smooth body, bright acidity.
